An Inquiry into discrimination of pregnant women and people who return to work after taking parental leave will soon be conducted and the ACTU is calling on unions and union members to contribute to the inquiry.
Earlier this year the ACTU was successful in their endeavour to get the previous Labor Government, led by Julia Gillard, to look into the issue.
Now the inquiry, being held by the Australian Human Rights Commission, is open for submissions in various forms:
- By contributing to the ACTU submission via an online survey or calling the hotline - 1300 364 024.
- By participating in the various consultation forums being conducted by Trades and Labour Councils around the country.
- By making individual online submissions.
Dates for the forums closest to you can be found under the individual branch events on this website, or you can click here for more information on the inquiry.
Submissions close on Monday 16 December 2013.
